A global
educator

Hello! I'm a Canadian early years teacher that has been formally teaching at schools across Asia for the past 4 years. Including formal classroom teaching, in total I have accumulated over 12 years of experience working with children, with previous work including coaching swimming and competitive cheerleading (gymnastics), as well as tutoring ESL students.

I am currently enrolled and in the process of completing a Master's Degree in Education, specializing in Early Childhood Education with a combined U.S. teacher's license. I also hold a TEFL certification with a specialization in teaching English to young learners. I’m experienced in teaching English Phonics and am familiar with the Sadlier, Oxford, and Jolly Phonics methods. I have also been trained in the Singapore Maths method of teaching numeracy skills to young learners.

I'm a passionate and creative educator, and I pride myself on maintaining a global perspective on education. I entered the teaching profession after 5 years spent in the advertising and marketing industry, bringing further life experiences and valuable skills along to aid me in becoming a true leader in the classroom.

Respect for
the CHILD

As an elementary educator, I feel strongly about the need for every child to have a solid educational foundation, with a personal teaching philosophy that places respect for the child at the core. By assessing each student’s individual talents and abilities, I develop a unique relationship with each child and strive to become a trusted adult so that students feel safe to express their full selves and explore their potential in my classroom. I thoughtfully plan my lessons to develop foundational skills such as teamwork, fine motor skills, public speaking, critical thinking, and problem-solving, while ensuring young learners are enjoying the learning experience and having fun.
